Sun Engineering was awarded the contract to do the detailed drafting, procurement, manufacturing, protective coating, and delivery of the new Breakfast Creek Green Bridge located in Newstead, Brisbane. The Bridge is part of the balanced plan to help reduce traffic congestion by providing a new active travel link and better transportation for Brisbane. The bridge was built in sections at our Carole Park facility and transported to the port side lay down area where we assembled the entire bridge into one unit, once assembled the complete unit was jacked up and lifted onto a barge, floated down the Brisbane river and lifted into place. The steel portion of the bridge is over 90 meters in length, 15 meters high with combined weight of 290 tonnes.
